A little background
about me
I've been making interactive things since before the web existed,
and I haven't gotten tired of it yet.
I started as a 3D modeller at Probe Entertainment in the mid-nineties,
shipped Re-Volt as Lead Designer in 1999, and spent the years that
followed building games for THQ, leading artist teams in London, and
teaching game design at university. Each chapter built on the last.
From 2014 to 2021 I ran the studio team at QUT Cube — the largest
digital interactive education space in the world — managing a
multidisciplinary team of nine, a budget of around $3M annually, and
delivering eight large-scale interactive projects. In 2021 I moved
into XR production at Real Serious Games, where I produce VR training
systems for some of Australia's largest infrastructure clients.
Alongside all of that, I've been quietly building full-stack web
applications on my own. Four in the last year. I do it because I love
the craft, and because nothing teaches you about product like shipping
your own.
